Privacy Policy — LifeguardFinder

What we collect

When you create an account or use LifeguardFinder, we collect:

Account info — your email address, first name, last initial, phone number, and profile photo (optional).
Lifeguard profile data — your home address (used only to compute commute times; never shown publicly), hourly rate, certifications and their expiration dates, specialties, languages, and a short bio.
Client search data — the job address, date, time, budget, and any criteria you enter for each search.
Ratings and reviews— thumbs-up / thumbs-down and any comment you choose to leave on another user's profile.
Payment info — when you pay for an unlock, the payment itself is handled by Stripe; we do not see or store your card number.

Phone numbers and email addresses are not shown publicly by default. Lifeguard contact information is shown to clients only after a paid search unlock, and only according to the lifeguard's visibility settings. Lifeguard home addresses are never shown publicly.
Home addresses are used only to compute commute time from a job address. We never display home addresses to anyone but the lifeguard.
Job-search criteria are used to rank lifeguards. We do not share clients' specific search criteria with the lifeguards who appear in results.

We share necessary data with:

Supabase — database, authentication, file storage (for profile photos and certificate images/PDFs).
Stripe — payment processing.
Google Maps / Routes API — address autocomplete (Places) and commute-time calculations (Routes).
Resend — transactional email delivery (sign-in magic links).

Each of these has its own privacy policy. We don't sell or rent your personal data to anyone.

Access & download— email us and we'll send you a copy of the data we hold about you.
Correction — most fields can be edited from your dashboard. For anything else, email us.
Deletion— email us and we'll delete your account and associated data within 30 days. We may keep payment records longer where required for tax or fraud recordkeeping.
Visibility off — lifeguards can toggle their profile off without deleting their account. Clients can stop running new searches at any time.

We use only session cookies needed to keep you signed in (Supabase auth). We do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.
