Terms of Service

1. What LifeguardFinder is

LifeguardFinder.com (“LifeguardFinder,” “we,” “us”) is a discovery tool that helps clients find independent, certified lifeguards near a job location. We are not a staffing agency, an employer of any lifeguard, or a party to any agreement between clients and lifeguards. We do not schedule, dispatch, supervise, or pay lifeguards.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 15 years old to create a lifeguard account (the minimum age for most U.S. lifeguarding certifications) and at least 18 years old to create a client account. If you're a lifeguard under 18, a parent or guardian should review these Terms with you. You agree to provide accurate information (name, phone number, email address, and, for lifeguards, current certifications and home address used for commute calculation). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

3. Hiring decisions are yours

LifeguardFinder ranks lifeguards by commute, certifications, ratings, and profile fit, but we do not employ, supervise, or guarantee any lifeguard's qualifications, behavior, or availability. Before hiring, clients are responsible for independently verifying each lifeguard's identity, certifications, insurance, and references, and for negotiating terms directly with the lifeguard.

4. Payment for search unlocks

Clients may unlock the top-ranked match list for a one-time fee of $19 USD per search, charged via Stripe. There is no subscription and no recurring charge. Unlocks are tied to one specific search and do not transfer between searches. See the Refund Policy for refund-eligible cases.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use LifeguardFinder to scrape, redistribute, or resell other users' contact information.
  • Submit false certifications, fake identities, or misleading ratings.
  • Use the platform for any purpose unrelated to hiring or being hired as a lifeguard.
  • Harass, threaten, or attempt to defraud other users.

We may suspend or delete accounts for any conduct we judge to violate these Terms.

6. No warranties

The service is provided “as is.” We make no warranty, express or implied, that lifeguards listed are qualified, safe, available, or appropriate for any particular job. Use of the platform is at your own risk.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LifeguardFinder and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including injury or death, arising from interactions between clients and lifeguards. Our total liability for any direct damages is limited to the fees you have paid us in the past 12 months.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated by email to the address on your account.
